You might be an Esther Ofarim fan if...

  • ...all you want for Christmas, Hanukkah, your birthday, etc. are CDs, cassettes, and/or LPs by her (and her ex-husband, Abi).
  • ...you know all the words to at least one of her (and Abi's) songs.
  • ...you think she and Abi should have stayed together.
  • ...most of the files on your computer are songs, videos, and pictures of her (and Abi).
  • ...you have a picture of her for your cover photo.
  • ...you have her 3-disc boxset.
  • ...you run an Esther Ofarim appreciation blog. Mine can be found here.
  • ...you only like Gil Ofarim because his dad is Esther's ex-husband.
  • ...you spend hours on end watching videos of her on Youtube.
  • ...you're the only one in the school you go to that listens to her.
  • ...you have more songs by her than any other singer on your iPod.
  • ...you design your makeup after her.
  • ...you draw pictures of her (occasionally with Abi) in your sketchbooks and school notebooks.
  • ...you think she sang "Ma Omrot Eynayich", "Shedemati", "Shecharchoret", and "Na'ama" better than Ofra Haza. (I have nothing against Ofra; I think she's a great singer too.)
  • ...you sing "Stav" (Autumn), even when it's not autumn.
  • ...her songs like "Long About Now", "She's Leaving Home", "Dma'ot shel Malachim", and "Hayu Leilot" send chills down your spine.
  • ...when you talk to people that haven't heard of her but have seen the Smothers Brothers episodes with her, you just call her "that Smothers Brothers girl".
  • ...you think 2 Chainz's song "Crack" stole from her song "Saeni Imcha Bemachol".
  • ...you get mad because you never get to see her in concert (The only time she performed here in the US without the Smothers Brothers was in 1982 at the Lincoln Center in New York.)

  1. And did you see the Smothers Brothers shows with Esther?
Do you know someone who has recorded them?
I only have the "Three song", but not the other songs, you can get info about the shows and songs here:
